Do You Have the Winter Blahs?

Hopefully, Old Man Winter, is just about to call it a season in your neck of the woods, and the spring breezes are just around the corner.  However, even winter is a pretty time to walk a beach, and watch the seabirds following the shrimp boats, the ghost crabs scampering along the dunes or the beautiful red and pink sunsets.

           "ANNUAL STATE OF BRUNSWICK COUNTY"

Sales activity in Brunswick County is starting to pick up, and optimism was the keynote at the Annual State of Brunswick County meeting this month.  Among, Woody Hall's (Senior Economist at UNC- Wilmington) and Bill Sue's (County Commissioner) finding's are:

   ~ A projected economic growth of 4.5% in 2008.

   ~ 81 Homes Sold in Dec. 2007-vs 89 in Dec. 2006

   ~ The housing price correction has entered it's third 
     year and analysts believe much of the correction 
     is over.

   ~Since July, 2007, The County has re-zoned 41,720 
     acres for the development of 85,000 new housing 
     units.

   ~Tourism continues to be the largest source of 
     revenue, with more than 4,900 jobs related to the
     travel/tourism industry.
